What a race! It was warm. Hot, really, especially on the upper slopes above tree line. Every felt it, everyone suffered. This is Beast!

Here are your 2024 winners of the two races:

The podium of our Forest Loop 5 Miler:

WOMEN:

1. Ruth Gibson – Lilliwuap, WA – 1:03:15
2. Gina Knight – Olympia, WA – 1:07:45
3. Meghan Treece – Oak Harbor, WA – 1:10:48

MEN:

1. Wendall Lorenzen – Lakewood, WA – 00:37:46
2. Kerry Farrell – Auburn, WA – 00:43:22
3. Elijah Ninnis – Shelton, WA – 00:43:55

Wendall set a blistering new course record and Kerry is 63 and Elijah is only 13. What a podium! For full results visit our results page.

The podium of our Skyrace 14 Miler:

WOMEN:

1. Cassie Smith – Squamish, CAN – 3:06:38
2. Shannon Black – Vancouver, WA – 3:15:44
3. Megan Morris – Bremerton, WA – 3:19:09

On a hot day that turned into pretty brutal conditions  in the boulder field up above the tree line these women battled it out putting on incredible performances on Mount Ellinor. For the first time the top trophy is going out of the country to Squamish, BC, Canada.

MEN:

1. Tyler Quinn Smith – Seattle, WA – 2:37:57
2. Jeremy Anderson – Chimacum, WA – 2:45:40
3. Adam Campbell – Squamish , CAN – 2:50:23

This one is hard to write. Jessie McAuley, seen in the finish pictures, ran an incredible race this weekend, but took a wrong turn that lead him down the wrong (shorter) trail to the finish. He came in first and set a course record. Later that evening he reached out to me letting me know about his mistake. What an incredible honorable thing to do – thank you! Sadly we had to make the tough call to DQ him. This changes up the 2024 men’s podium. Congrats Tyler for winning this year’s Beast. Jeremy you came back from last year’s 18th place overall to take 2nd. (An improvement by 30min!) And Adam, you now jump onto the podium into 3rd place holding up the flag for Canada. What incredible performances on this very very warm day.
